European Cycling Federation
The European Cyclists' Federation (ECF) is pledged to ensure that bicycle use achieves its fullest potential so as to bring about sustainable mobility and public well-being. To achieve these aims, the ECF seeks to change attitudes, policies and budget allocations at the European level. The ECF will stimulate and organise the exchange of information and expertise on bicycle related transport policies and strategies as well as the work of cyclists movement.

Die Luft flimmert vor Hitze so stark, dass sich die knorrigen Korkeichen und die Olivenbäume vor rotbrauner, von der Sonne versengter Erde zu wellen scheinen. Schweiß rinnt und brennt auf der Haut. Die Ruhe und die Hügel scheinen endlos, die weiß gekalkten Dörfer liegen still. Reist man auf zwei Rädern durchs Alentejo, behält man tiefe Eindrücke von Landschaft und Menschen. Além Tejo, jenseits des Tejo, liegt dieses vergessene Land voller Zeit. Es ist die flächenmäßig größte Region Portugals und gleichzeitig die am dünnsten besiedelte.
