The Cherries Path Lisboa-Marvão-Salamanca
This
is the perfect tour to combine countryside sightseeing and
scenic quiet roads riding!
Travel from the Portuguese capital city of Lisboa to Salamanca,
the "small Rome", as it is known in Spain for
its high concentration of monuments. Discover the unspoilt
landscapes of Alentejo, hidden megalithic monuments, Roman
Ruins and the well-conserved Iberian landscape, culture
and gastronomy! You can't miss a ride through the cherry
orchards to taste the local cherries!
These 2 regions of Iberia present great conditions for both
hiking and cycling discoveries. You will discover a bucolic
and scenic landscape, mostly rolling plains in Alentejo,
and fairly hilly south of Salamanca. On the way you will
find chapels, Megalithic monuments, Roman ruins and castles.
The Alentejo; Extremadura and Castilla are very well preserved
areas, not only the landscape, heritage and architecture,
but also its culture and ancient knowledge, which we will
take you to experience it at its best.
Alentejo is a must with its Turismo Rural houses, traditional
food, with fish and meat meals, of renowned quality in typical
tascas, where the quality local wine and atmosphere makes
all the difference. In Spain you will discover the Castillian
monumental city of Salamanca, an unforgettable experience
both during the day and on lively nights!
