Évora - Monsaraz - Évora
Highlights:  The path is lined with whitewashed houses, slate- paved streets, and features the medieval fortress village of Monsaraz. Enjoy red clay pottery and vineyards, cork trees, and olive groves with the oldest trees in Alentejo.

This tour also departs from Lisboa. You will admire the contrast of whitewash against stone in a strong and open landscape; it makes Monsaraz a living monument. Everything in the village is a delight to visit: the gateways to the fortress, passing the parish and the Misericórdia church, and an ancient cistern. Look down on the dazzling view from the castle keep at the smallest details of this treasure and, whatever the weather, linger.

A Menhir and a Dolmen hide in the lowlands that are dominated by Olive groves and vineyards. Olive trees were introduced in Mediterranean Europe thousands of years ago, and some of these trees may have been planted during the Roman occupation, when they were brought to the Iberian Peninsula.

After departing from Monsaraz, you will find a fortified sanctuary, probably from the first half of the 14th century. Here, an annual festival takes place on the first Sunday after Easter.

Price includes 3 days bike rental, 2 picnics, 2 dinners, 2 nights accommodation with breakfast, guide, daily itinerary details, back-up vehicle, and transfer to and from Lisboa.
