Day 8 Lima River Marshlands
After riding across River Lima you will bike on its south bank on a beautiful riverside Bike Lane until you reach serene town of Ponte de Lima with its incredible well preserved Roman Bridge, a medieval atmosphere, incredible manor houses, churches and charming squares. (30km/19m)

Day 9 Departure Day
Take some time to stroll around the town centre or the banks of the River Lima.

We enjoyed the topography, which was challenging but did not leave us too exhausted to enjoy visiting towns, spas and water adventures in the afternoon when we were done riding.

Part of what was a real treat was the well-scoped trips – full of historic sensibility, like the Roman roads, plus local flavour.

We love it that the world does differ – that the countryside in northern Portugal is full of small firms, with their own vineyards and corn and vegetables.

We knew we had travelled someplace special.

Guest Reviews about this Tour

think water elements just about every day were GREAT. It felt so great to be in the water after or in the middle of a day of riding. I thought the hotels were a great mix of luxurious, local, interesting, historic, comfortable.
